Counselor
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has an opening in the Student Counseling Center for a Counselor. We have been ranked No. 1 among U.S. engineering colleges by the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Guide for the last 26 consecutive years.
As our Counselor, you will provide counseling/treatment services to students; consult with students and faculty regarding student mental health concerns; assist students with referrals to off-campus facilities for counseling and testing as needed; conduct emergency assessments and facilitate hospital psychiatric admission of high-risk students; maintain timely and accurate confidential student records.
You will serve as the lead in the development, organization, and promotion of outreach programming to the campus community; work in collaboration with individuals and groups to identify and develop outreach programming to best meet the specific mental health needs and requests of all students; be responsible for strengthening outreach connections and coordinating student support with student organizations and diversity partners; reports outreach data.
As a Counselor you will work collaboratively with counseling center staff to provide community engagement and outreach intervention for student organizations and academic departments within the Institute to promote mental wellness; assist with and engage in outreach activities intended to promote increased awareness and access to services for all students.
Additionally, you will provide input and feedback about clinical operations regarding quality assurance, risk management, and the implementation of counseling guidelines and procedures; assist Director of Counseling Services in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data and other information through quarterly and annual reports.
Qualified candidates will have a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and one year of professional counseling experience. Advanced analytical and computer skills are necessary. Project/process management skills are required. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Preferred candidates will have three years of professional counseling experience. Professional counseling experience working with college students in a campus environment and familiarity with diagnoses that commonly affect college students is strongly desired.

Salary range is $54,000 – $68,000. Salary is competitive. A higher salary may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
