Mechanical Engineering Lab Technician
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has an opening in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for a Lab Technician. We have been ranked No. 1 among U.S. engineering colleges by the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Guide for the last 26 consecutive years.
As a Mechanical Engineering (ME) Lab Technician, you will set up, maintain, calibrate, test, operate, and repair laboratory equipment and computer systems; clean, maintain, and prepare supplies and work areas; set up and validate a variety of laboratory experiments or procedures. You will assist/instruct faculty and students on the use, operation, and safety of equipment and tools in the laboratory; assist faculty and students on research, capstone, and independent projects; and consult with faculty members on equipment modifications or needs for use in demonstrations. Implements teaching aids for use in labs.
Qualified candidates must have an associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of two years professional work experience. Three years of additional experience in lieu of education.
Preferred candidates will have at least five years of machine shop experience, at least five years of CNC experience, and ability with CAD and CAD/CAM software, excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills; ability to work independently.

Pay Range is $22.40/hour - $26.25/hour. Pay is competitive. A higher pay may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
