Stewardship Assistant Director

The Stewardship Assistant Director will develop and ensurethat all mandatory stewardship plans are complete, and the annual stewardshipcalendar is maintained; work independently with department chairs and leadersof institutional projects to determine stewardship opportunities and ensurethat all appropriate criteria in memorandums of understanding are followed; maintainfamiliarity with the donors assigned to each gift officer and sensitive to the typeof stewardship activity appropriate for each donor; review all gift agreementsto ensure that the Institution's best interests are maintained, and the donorcode of conduct is also followed.
The Stewardship Assistant Director will oversee theawarding of scholarships which have been funded through philanthropy to ensurethat they are consistent with specific and documented criteria; oversee themanagement of Giving Societies, such as the Chauncey Rose Society and 1874Society, including strategy, recognition, events and data management.
Additionally, the Stewardship Assistant Director will executethe annual process of endowment and scholarship reporting for all donors withnamed scholarships and funds; work with financial aid to provide communicationabout the scholarship / fellowship to each recipient and to ensure the properrecording and access to student recipient data; manage and maintain informationin the database, including new endowment information, recipient and donorinformation, annual recipient updates, and other information, as necessary; initiateand maintain contact with major donors to the institution to act as anadditional point of contact.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree inbusiness, communications, public relations, or a related field and two to threeyears of experience in higher education stewardship / donor relations,development or advancement services. Analytical, project / process management,time management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skillsare necessary. The ability to multitask and prioritize many projects at onceand work with minimal supervision is essential. Must be data-oriented,proficient in Excel, mail merge, data analysis with the ability to learn newsoftware quickly. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsare essential; must be able to write donor reports and acknowledgementlanguage. Must be flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to changingcircumstances and deadlines.
Preferred candidates will have five years of experience inhigher education stewardship / donor relations, development, or advancementservices. Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM)system is strongly preferred.

Salary Range is $45,000-$56,000. Salary is competitive. Ahigher salary may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
