Skill Requirements
Want strong Excel skills
Some construction or utility experience. Renewables is an extra plus
Accounting in their background would be nice. Corporate level. Need someone who is more of an analyst vs actual accounting.
Titles that have worked out : Project Control, Cost Analyst, Construction Accounting
Need problem solvers. Have many unique situations.
Need to be able to explain themselves, be assertive and seek information on themselves.
SAP is the main tool they use. ECC module within SAP
EPM (budgeting tool / Oracle tool) and Excel
No certifications needed.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Cost analyst
Help PMs with forecasting, budgeting, accruals
Ensuring portfolio meets budget requirements throughout the year
Forecasts for vendors
This is on the Cost side vs. Scheduling
Group size?
Probably work with 3-4 project controllers in TX.
Will be working with PMs, business area finance, capital asset accounting
Supporting internal customer. May reach out to vendor for information.
Will be in collaborative and individual environment.
Experience
8-10 years, need good understanding of accruals and what that means to a project as well as forecasting
Person will be proficient in position after a full monthly cycle
Likely to be extended is a high probability
