A Substance Abuse Counselor will evaluate and counsel persons who are suffering from the problem of drug or alcohol addiction. As a Substance abuse counselor, you will help people gain an understanding of their addiction by teaching them the mechanics or coping skills to accept their addiction and manage their lives in a positive manner . As a Substance abuse counselor you will complete assessment evaluations, develop treatment plans, provide individual counseling, provide referral for other community services, and conduct educational groups and group therapy.

Responsibilities and Duties
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Preferred candidate must possess CADC
Must possess the ability to establish effective, productive, and therapeutic relationships with patients with maintaining professional and ethic boundaries. Must possess positive attitude and be able to work both independently and as a team player; posses strong time management and organizational skills and have the ability to manage a high volume of client interactions. Must be familiar with patient confidentiality laws and willing to adhere. Perfer candidate with Methadone Maintenance experience, but will train. Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
