Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled EEG Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in conducting electroencephalograms (EEGs) to assist in the diagnostic evaluation of patients. This position requires a strong understanding of physiology and anatomy, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment, such as a Level I or Level II Trauma Center. The EEG Technician will be responsible for ensuring patient care and comfort while performing diagnostic tests.
Responsibilities
- Conduct EEG tests according to established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Monitor vital signs during testing to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results.
- Maintain accurate records of EEG tests and patient information.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions.
- Stay updated on advancements in EEG technology and techniques.
- Adhere to medical terminology standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring and emergency medicine protocols.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes related to neurology.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to EEG procedures.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to neurological assessments.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience as an EEG Technician or in a similar role is advantageous.
