What you'll be doing

Responsible for sales and operations support on the regional level which includes site visits, field work, creating job costing, obtaining quotes, building proposals, client job walks and some project management. This position will report to the Lead Regional Estimator - Matt Feikes - Chicago Division

• Provide accurate job costing to account executives (sales reps) in a timely fashion.
• Visit parking lots throughout the Chicago metro area to assess conditions, take field measurements and create a scope of work in collaboration with account executives.
• Create site maps, call out repair areas, and create supporting documents and spreadsheets.
• Accurately read and interpret engineering blueprints and understand engineering concepts and terms.
• Generate takeoff quantities from engineering blueprints necessary for the bidding process.
• Read lengthy project manuals and spec books in search of items that impact job costing and execution.
• Create client proposals in Microsoft Dynamics software (data entry).
• Prioritize responsibilities, plan your day and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, organizational skills, and meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Demonstrate responsive and professional communication skills.
  • Respond in an appropriate time frame to both internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with different personalities, appreciate differing viewpoints and accept constructive feedback.
• Build relationships and negotiate with current alliance partners (subcontractors), suppliers and vendors.
• Send out requests for proposals to alliance partners, track responses and distribute accordingly to account executives or project managers.
• Occasionally attend pre-bid, pre-construction job walks both live and virtual.
• Occasionally assist in project management as deemed necessary. This will include some early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.

What skills and experience you'll bring to us

• 1 - 2 years' experience in related field or recent college graduate.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, with a heavy emphasis on Excel.
• Ability to apply general mathematical concepts.
• Competency in Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth and Google Maps.
• While this is a full-time position, the workload is seasonally weighted toward the warm weather months. While Rose Paving believes firmly in work / life balance, early morning start times and/or evening hours and weekend work are sometimes required in this position.
• This job can at times be physically demanding. Examples include but are not limited to:
  • You must be able to lift 80 lbs. from the ground.
  • You must be able to bend over to the ground.
  • You must be able to spend hours at a time on your feet or walking job sites.
  • You will be required to be outside during hot and cold weather.

Travel Requirements

• This job requires travel in your personal vehicle throughout the Chicago Metro area.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must have a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Rose Paving reimburses work related travel and tolls at the Standard Mileage Rate for Deductions (currently $0.70 cents per mile). Commuting mileage and tolls to/from your home and the Rose Paving office location you are assigned to are at your own expense and NOT reimbursed by Rose Paving.
• You may at times be assigned a company vehicle on a per-project basis.

Salary : $53,000 - $65,000
