STUDENT AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN ADMISSIONS & RECORDS
POSITION : Admissions Specialist
Description of Duties : Perform daily application processing from the online applications in Peoplesoft. Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and by email. Verify the Grade Point System utilized by the transfer institution to convert to Rose State College equivalency. Analyze data that is entered by applicant for accuracy and consistency to process their personal, and transfer institution data from Mutara to our Peoplesoft / OASIS system. Then process a new application or an updated application for a student. Establish and Verify checklists for students to do in Peoplesoft / OASIS that will also impact next steps and Financial Aid data. Respond to inquiries concerning online Mutara applications. Process and certify all applications that have come in for the day and ensure that e-communications have been sent at least once daily. Perform the daily entry of applications from the University of Oklahoma, Workforce Development, Concurrent, Technology Center, and Incarcerated students as well as our regular new and transfer students. Check the files online for any new University of Oklahoma applications. Assist in the processing of International applications. Report inconsistent activities by students as they pertain to their application for admission. Clean data errors as they pertain to the applicant data, majors, course information, and transfer institutional data as presented from Institutional Research. Correspond with students in writing or in person regarding their outstanding documents needed to be admitted to Rose State College. Attend Mutara update meetings bi-weekly to troubleshoot issues with our online application or suggest new functionality. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Perform other related duties as assigned. Receive limited supervision from the Assistant Registrar / Assistant Director, Admissions and Records, and / or the Registrar.
Minimum Qualifications : High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of related experience in an academic institution. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Basic math and data entry skills are essential. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment. Light lifting up to 10lbs and light carrying up to 10 lbs required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
Desired Qualifications : Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Two years of related experience in an academic institution.
