ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES A PART-TIME OPENING IN THE HEALTH SCIENCES DIVISION
POSITION: Microbiology Lab Assistant (Part-Time)
Description of Duties: Sets up laboratory and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Examining, culturing, and identifying microorganisms. Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment for daily operation of the laboratory. Collects, prepares, cleans, and stores glassware. Stocks and prepares media, reagents, chemical solutions, and stains. Coordinates with instructors to develop semester lab schedules. Maintains lab inventory and relays ordering needs to administrative staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Written, oral, and computer skills. Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.
Desired Qualifications: Completion of a general college microbiology course with a lab.
Pay Rate: $12 per hour
An unofficial degree conferring transcripts must be received by this office for formal consideration; however, should an offer of employment be extended, official transcripts are required.
All finalists may be subject to a background check and/or drug test.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
