ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN THE HEALTH SCIENCES DIVISION
POSITION: Professor of Clinical Practice, Nursing
Description of Duties: Teaching: Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials related to clinical practice. Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including lectures, case studies, simulations, and hands-on training, to engage students effectively. Assist with skills labs, check offs, simulations, and lab days as available. Clinical shifts will be assigned via the director and/or program coordinators. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with coordinators in the design and review of clinical educational curriculum to ensure alignment with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and emerging trends in clinical practice. Integrate evidence-based practices and innovative teaching approaches to enhance the learning outcomes of students. Clinical Supervision: Provide mentorship, guidance, and supervision to students during clinical rotations, internships, or practicum experiences. Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, professional growth, and ethical decision-making. Track student attendance, clinical coursework, and student skills and competencies. Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in the field of clinical practice by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs. Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and memberships in relevant professional organizations. Service and Leadership: Serve on departmental committees, task forces, and advisory boards to provide expertise on matters related to clinical education, curriculum development, and program assessment. Participate in community outreach initiatives, professional networks, and collaborative partnerships to enhance the visibility and impact of the institution.
Minimum Qualifications: BSN and OK RN license and two years clinical nursing practice experience. Light lifting up to 10 lbs and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Mobility to move from building to building on campus and to visit off-campus sites/facilities.
Desired Qualifications: Masters in Nursing Education or related discipline. Nursing teaching experience as a full time or adjunct.
