EFFECTIVE DATE: 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
COMPENSATION: PER RTMEA CONTRACT
JOB SUMMARY: The Instructional Coach – Technology works to support both the Department of Technology and the Office of Curriculum & Instruction. The role is to build the capacity of secondary faculty and staff to meet the contemporary learning needs of all students. The coach’s goal is to ensure that faculty and staff acquire the understanding and skills to enhance instructional practices at the classroom level and raise the level of student achievement based on research based best practices in contemporary learning and technology integration that supports that learning.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in education with five or more years of teaching experience. Must hold an active and valid PA certification in any Level II, Instructional area of teaching. Experience with improving student achievement in the classroom. Demonstrated deep knowledge of instructional technology. Proven ability to align curriculum and instruction with standards resulting in increased student achievement. Deep understanding of and experience with various contemporary instructional practices/strategies. Knowledge of standards-based education system and familiarity with or training in the Pennsylvania Assessment Anchors. Success in modeling effective use of current instructional technology. Experience in adult learning theory, coaching/mentoring scenarios, or at minimum, having led school level professional development workshops. Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the PA School Code). Submission of a report of criminal history record from the PA State Police (Section 111 of the PA School Code), Submission of FBI Criminal History Record in accordance with Act 114 of 2007. Submission of a clearance report from the PA Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994. Submission of Act 168 of 2014 clearance form.
