We are seeking a skilled Admissions Coordinator Specialist to join our team at Rose Villa Healthcare Center.
About the Role
The Admissions Coordinator Specialist will be responsible for efficiently obtaining required information and admitting residents in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless onboarding processes for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Receive and follow work schedules/instructions from the Administrator and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Assist in interviewing residents/guardians and collecting necessary information and signatures.
- Participate in the orientation program for residents/personnel, aligned with our established policies and procedures.
- Prepare identification records for residents in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintain an accurate record of available beds.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as per established policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility.
- Support recording all incidents/accidents and filing in accordance with established procedures.
- Keep a current listing of all residents, their level of care, and assigned room numbers.
- Provide copies of this listing to nursing service, administrative personnel, government agencies, and others as needed.
- Attach preadmission documentation to admission papers as necessary.
- Perform secretarial duties when required.
- Maintain various registries as directed, including registers for admission and discharge of residents.
- Explain room rates, billing procedures, visitor privileges, restrictions, resident care procedures, etc., to residents and/or guardians as needed.
- Establish and maintain a resident master card file.
- Notify nursing service and seek assistance if a resident is disturbed/violent on admission or shows symptoms of infectious/communicable disease.
- Refer admission problems to the proper authority.
- Maintain a resident waiting list in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about current Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission/discharge requirements of healthcare facilities.
- Maintain daily and monthly census reports as directed.
- Keep current records of all residents admitted/discharged by this facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and assist business office personnel as required/directed.
