Precision Spine Care is currently looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our interventional pain clinic in Texarkana! The Certified Medical Assistant is to support the providers with patient care and handle clerical, environmental and organizational tasks to ensure patients benefit optimally from the clinical services received. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, motivated, detail oriented and have excellent customer service skills. Prior experience with assistance with procedures and dispensing of durable medical equipment a plus! Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Daily assistance and organization of patient flow, including schedule monitoring and chart preparation.
- Daily assistance with in office procedures; ensuring proper sterilization and preparation is obtained for the provider and patient.
- Work with the clinical support team, providers and patients in obtaining prior authorization approval for durable medical equipment.
- Fit patients with the appropriate durable medical equipment for immediate conservative treatment per the ordered care plan.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms clean and sanitized.
- Assist and accompany patients to treatment room.
- Check patient vital signs and document appropriately.
- Document patient information including patient history screenings, explanation of visit and any pertinent information related to the services needed.
- Work collaboratively with others, including clinical support team.
- Work constructively with Case Managers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified as a Medical Assistant by American Allied Health, AAMA, NHA or another recognized program.
- Current CPR certification.
- One (1) year of experience in a medical setting, preferred.
- Prior knowledge and use of NextGen electronic health record system a plus.
- Prior experience and knowledge working with durable medical equipment.
- Prior experience assisting providers with in office procedures.
- Be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Strong PC skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Skills to manage stress in order to maintain a professional atmosphere and provide quality service.
- Regular, dependable, and reliable attendance.
