Job Summary :
The position is a Media Specialist at Abraham Clark High School for the 2024-2025 School Year. From September 2024 - June 2025.
Qualifications :
- Appropriate NJDOE certification.
- Provide Technical Support to students & staff
- Have a thorough understanding of Media Literacy
- Assembles collections of media that support the curriculum
- Establish a system for the use of the Media Center and its resources.
- Create and implement daytime and afterschool programs for students
- Become part of PLCs and serve as a resource for the staff when addressing effective online research; a skill that students will need in high school and beyond.
- Serve as technical support for students who require changes in Google Passwords.
- Assist in teaching students "soft skills" they will utilize in their future education or employment.
- Publish and update content on the library's website (e.g. book summaries, reviews, blog, etc.)
- Assess district's literacy resources needs and present strategic plan for execution.
- Eliminates out-dated, inappropriate and unsuitable materials.
- Conduct regular checks and updates on database information
- Help p atrons research reading materials and references
- Answer students and staff questions & email.
- Manage the library budgeting and billing for new equipment
- Assists staff and students to ensure technology is utilized to the fullest extent possible through meaningful integration into the adopted curriculum.
- Research and implement best practices for new information system techniques
- Familiar with Common Core Standards.
- Comprehensive certifications preferred.
- Strong disciplinary and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and promote a safe and secure learning environment.
