Floating/Sub, Week Nights & Weekends hours available, $15/hour, number of hours dependent on need

SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Parks and Facilities Supervisor, the Custodian is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of Roselle Park District's buildings, owned or leased, and any other task assigned by your immediate Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Preferably a High School graduate with experience in the custodial field, or equal experience in the trade fields.
- A good knowledge of building cleaning is essential.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Must possess the physical ability to lift and carry out assigned duties and effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the Park District.
- Employee must have a positive attitude. Must have a valid driver’s license.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
- Work involves the cleaning and routine maintenance in an assigned building or buildings.
- Must have good quality cleaning practices and completes daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance and custodial tasks.
- Responsible for the use of proper methods, chemicals and equipment in cleaning and otherwise attending to the neatness and sanitation of buildings and equipment.
- Works cooperatively with fellow staff and general public.
- Completes work orders in a timely manner.
- Performs all tasks necessary to assure a safe environment at all park district facilities.
- Secures all buildings before leaving for the night.
- Understands and follows (SDS) Safety Data Sheet procedures when handling chemicals.
- Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays when assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
- Sweep and mop floors of gym, entryways, lobby, and stairwells.
- Clean any and all washrooms if needed.
- Clean kitchen area and kitchen in Maple room.
- Vacuum high-traffic areas and offices.
- Clean windows in all CRC areas.
- Organize/clean storage closets and areas throughout CRC.
- Take out garbage and replace liners in all CRC areas.
- Clean scuff marks from high-traffic areas and remove stains from carpeting.
- Replace paper products throughout CRC daily (including restrooms).
- Check inventory on paper and cleaning products in storage closets.
- Replace light bulbs in all areas.
- Maintain quality, integrity, and cleanliness of CRC rental furniture.
- Make recommendations on continual improvements and note any changes for CRC
- Maintenance in periodic report to supervisor.
- May perform other maintenance responsibilities as needed.
