Job Description: We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Paralegal to support our personal injury attorneys. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal injury law and a strong understanding of the legal process, along with a passion for helping clients navigate their cases. You will play a key role in assisting attorneys with case management, legal research, document preparation, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including complaints, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, case precedents, and regulations.
- Draft and review correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Maintain organized case files and manage the day-to-day progress of personal injury cases.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and medical professionals to gather information, schedule appointments, and provide case updates.
- Prepare case summaries, discovery responses, and trial exhibits.
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and experts to obtain and review necessary documents.
- Prepare and file insurance claims, and communicate with insurance adjusters regarding case status and settlement negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal procedures and deadlines.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing evidence and exhibits, coordinating witness testimony, and preparing trial binders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Paralegal certification preferred .
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in a personal injury law firm or similar legal setting.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury laws and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software (experience with [Insert specific software, e.g., Clio, Legal Files] is a plus).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
