Position Summary:
As an Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing, you'll play a vital role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals through engaging classroom instruction, hands-on clinical training, and curriculum development. You'll foster a dynamic learning environment that integrates evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and compassionate patient care. In addition to teaching, you'll contribute to the growth of the College of Nursing through program development, mentorship, and scholarly activities. Essential Functions:
- Teach & Develop Curriculum – Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum, delivering engaging classroom, clinical, and lab instruction to meet course outcomes.
- Student Support & Mentorship – Serve as an academic adviser, providing guidance for students' intellectual, personal, and professional growth.
- Clinical Education & Evaluation – Supervise and assess students in clinical settings, coordinating with faculty and preceptors to optimize learning experiences.
- Assessment & Accreditation – Develop evaluation strategies, assist with accreditation processes, and uphold academic standards for student progression and graduation.
- Professional Development & Collaboration – Maintain expertise in nursing and teaching methodologies while fostering positive relationships with colleagues, students, and clinical partners.
- University & Committee Service – Actively participate in university, college, and committee initiatives, contributing to institutional growth and student success.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing from an NLN-CNEA, ACEN or CCNE-accredited institution.
- Demonstrated current clinical experience in area of specialty.
- Teaching experience in nursing at the postsecondary level preferred. If none, attend seminar for nurse educators.
- Holds current, active RN license in Nevada or Utah based on location of primary appointment.
