Position Summary:

Are you passionate about the intersection of healthcare, technology, and education? As a Simulation Technician at the Medical Simulation Center for Roseman University College of Medicine (RUCOM), you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of medical education. Collaborating with RUCOM leadership, faculty, and clinical teams, you’ll help design, integrate, and execute cutting-edge simulation experiences that enhance students’ clinical skills. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with state-of-the-art medical simulation technology, contributing to an immersive and innovative learning environment that prepares future healthcare professionals for real-world scenarios. Essential Functions:

• Setup, Operation, and Maintenance: Assist in the setup, breakdown, and operation of simulation experiences, including configuring high-fidelity mannequins, task trainers, and medical equipment. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and basic repairs to ensure equipment reliability.
• Technology and Troubleshooting: Operate and troubleshoot simulation technologies, including mannequins, audiovisual systems, and computer-based simulators. Identify and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Inventory and Equipment Management: Maintain an organized inventory of simulation equipment and supplies, coordinating repairs and replacements as needed. Ensure proper functioning of all equipment before and during sessions.
• Training and Support: Assist faculty, instructors, and students in utilizing simulation resources effectively. Provide basic technical training and support on the use of simulation equipment and audiovisual systems.
• Scenario Development and Coordination: Support the development, programming, and execution of simulation scenarios. Assist in scheduling and coordinating simulation sessions.
• Record-Keeping and Standardized Patient Support: Maintain accurate records of simulation activities, equipment usage, and troubleshooting logs. Act as a standardized patient during training sessions when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Required: 
  • Associate’s degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare, biomedical engineering, information technology, or education) required. 
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare, biomedical engineering, information technology, or education). 
  • 6 - 12 months experience in a healthcare, clinical, technical support, or medical simulation environment.
• Preferred: 
  • Experience in healthcare, technical support, or education. 
  • Understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
