What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reservation Group Housing Supervisor position at Rosen Hotels & Resorts?
Summary:
The Group Housing Supervisor is responsible for providing exceptional guest service to both internal and external guests while overseeing the housing team as it relates to convention and catering Groups. This position will directly report to the Group Housing Managers and the realm of responsibilities will extend beyond that of a typical supervisor. The GH Supervisor will hold a strong relationship with the General Manager, Director of Sales, and Director of Convention Services at all properties although the main focus of this role will relate to the Rosen Plaza. Daily/weekly conversations and meetings will be held regarding groups. The Group Housing Supervisor must have the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and problem-solve to deal with guests, clients, and internal staff effectively. In addition to overseeing staff, they also will be in charge of taking on small groups such as weddings and local social blocks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Should possess a thorough knowledge of Rosen Hotels & Resorts policies and procedures - directly related to convention properties.
- This position will oversee local social groups including weddings as well as small groups on a case-by-case basis as needed to help support the team. The role will require the capability to follow all of the same duties as a Group Housing Coordinator.
- Responsible for creating, distributing, and hosting the Rosen Plaza Pick-Up meeting weekly. They will also be responsible for distributing the notes to the Rosen Plaza distribution list once the meeting has taken place.
- Assist in the auditing of groups ensuring that the convention blocks assigned to coordinators have been turned in an appropriate fashion while following all of the items required on a GHC checklist.
- Monitor group nets, specifically at the Rosen Plaza Hotel ensuring that numbers are remaining accurate for the revenue teams, General Managers and Directors of Sales.
- The GH Supervisor will attend site visits and pre-convention meetings as required.
- Assist in the assigning of groups to Group Housing Coordinators.
- Will assist in managing daily schedules and payroll of group housing team.
- This role will be a direct backup to the Group Housing Managers.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule and be punctual.
- Work with Group Housing Managers to train all new Group Housing Coordinators.
Experience/Qualifications:
- 7 months of management experience
- 1 year of general experience
- Previous Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Must know Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to type at least 35 wpm, is preferred.
- Must have strong organizational skills and excellent time management skills.
- Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
