POSITION SUMMARY
The Laser Operator will program the laser to the specific specs of each project. They will set up and position sheets of metal on the laser. The Laser Operator will establish proper stop location and adjust laser beam focal point. Also, they will make proper set-ups for cutting operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Programs the laser to the specific specs of each project.
- Sets up and positions sheets of metal on the laser and unloading materials off of the laser.
- Establishes proper stop location and adjust laser beam focal point.
- Makes proper set-ups for cutting operations.
- Performs prescribed maintenance as required.
- Performs all dimensional inspections and measures all projects.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Previous experience operating a laser machine and related software required.
- Strong mechanical and technical ability required.

Skills:
Language:
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
- Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions.
Math:
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computer:
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, and Adobe/PDFs.
- Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

- Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
