POSITION SUMMARY

The Final Assembly Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that the chassis is built correctly, and any final steps of the production are completed. This position coordinates with multiple departments to troubleshoot production issues. Also, they will ensure that all the wires and hard build components are not below the minimum level for the build.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

1. Ensures that the fire apparatus chassis is built and functioning correctly.
2. Ensures that all the wires and hard build components are not below the minimum level for the build.
3. Coordinates with necessary departments to troubleshoot a variety of issues.
4. Torques bolts to specific setting according to the build specifications.
5. Adjusts the fluid levels to ensure that the fire apparatus is functioning properly.
6. Performs adjustments to the alignment of the fire apparatus.
7. Performs a running test of the fire apparatus to ensure that components are functioning properly when the engine is on.
8. Perform axle swaps, suspension swaps, fuel tank swaps, radiator swaps, and other specialized tasks as needed.
9. Repairs, rebuilds, or fixes components to complete difficult objectives to ensure the cabs and chassis are finished and shipped in a timely manner.
10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
