POSITION SUMMARY

The Flex Team member’s key duty will to be support the Build Teams by assisting in a variety of duties related to the build process by floating between Build Teams as needed. They will repair, re-build, or fix components on fire apparatus using skills from every aspect of Rosenbauer production process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

Repairs, rebuilds, or fixes components on fire apparatus using skills from every aspect of Rosenbauer production process.
Perform electrical assembly duties like routing 12V wires, connect lights, hose reels, wire air pumps, dash components, fuse box, and other electrical accessories.
Route A/C lines and installs vents.
Install doors, hose beds, compartment internals, and body panels.
Works on fabrication, plumbing, electrical, chassis frame, axles, air brakes, and finish products.
Utilizes basic hand tools, grinders, sanders, torch, and other tools to complete the objective on the fire apparatus.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, cut off wheels, shear, welders, and tape measure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

High school diploma/GED.
Extensive experience and knowledge in multiple departments (Electrical, Body Fabrication, and Finish) required.
Previous experience in automotive mechanics or diesel mechanics preferred.
5 years of experience building firetrucks preferred.
Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
Manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills:

Language:

Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:

Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.

Driving- license	x	May be required to operate company vehicles to move parts needed from building to building for production purposes.
