POSITION SUMMARY
The Body Fabricator is responsible for the metal fabrication of multiple components of the fire apparatuss body. They must be able to read and follow blueprints/specifications to complete objectives. A Body fabricator welds, sands, cuts, and bolts materials to build the body of the fire apparatus. They will also mount body and pump house onto the subframe of the fire apparatus as well as fill in where needed within the shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
- Fabricates the metal body on the fire apparatus.
- Reads and follows blueprints and specifications to complete objectives.
- Welds, sands, cuts, and bolts materials to build the body of the fire apparatus.
- Mounts body and pump house onto the subframe of the fire apparatus.
- Mounts support for equipment to be installed as needed.
- Checks the work of the blueprints and specifications to ensure that it will result in a workable product.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 6 months experience using MIG and TIG welding equipment is required. Welding diploma/certificate is preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Math:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
- Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.
