POSITION SUMMARY
The Metal Fabricator will position, fabricate, and assemble structural metal/aluminum products according to the workflow and production schedule. They will construct drop tanks, swivel dumps, ladder racks, EMS cabinets, fuel fills, and more. The Metal fabricator will set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, and drill presses. Also, they will position, align, fit, and weld together parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Constructs drop tanks, swivel dumps, ladder racks, EMS cabinets, fuel fills, and more.
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, and drill presses.
- Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts.
- Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
- Hammers, chips, and grinds workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
- Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
- Follows all workplace rules and safety guidelines and demonstrates safe work practices.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the company and our members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Experience using MIG and TIG welding equipment is required.
- Welding diploma/certificate is preferred.
- Previous applicable fabrication, welding, and brake press experience.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Math:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computer:
- Ability to perform intermediate PC functions including spreadsheet formulas and functions, queries, tables, merges, and special reports.

Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
- Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.
