Role Description
Qualities
- Experienced (NYS Licensed) Architect
- Proactive leader
- Client relationship development, strengthening and retention
- Successful track record of managing all phases of the design/construction process
- Working directly with all Firm Principals
- Day-to-day interface with the Clients
- Manage resources and staffing
- Strong ability to delegate tasks
- Overall responsibility for client satisfaction, quality control, financial performance and team dynamics on your projects.
- Be accountable for the design/construction processes, financial performance and risk management of your projects
- Maintain clear mind and calm head under stressful situations
- Collaborate with team leadership to assist in preparing project proposals and manage your projects from commencement to closeout
- Ensure that defined measures of success on each particular project are communicated to the team
- Actively mentor the next generation of leadership by inspiring, empowering and leading by example.
- Provide leadership to the client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule
- Interface and coordinate with office administrative, accounting, legal, and HR personnel, as well as coworkers, architects, project managers and CAD staff across the office
- Assure a collaborative, integrated approach in working with other disciplines and office to promote innovative design strategies throughout the project’s life cycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Licensed architect (NYS minimum)
- 15 years of project experience in a commercial architectural practice/setting
- Strong grasp of Federal, State and Local Building Codes
- Proven performance in managing the design and delivery process for a production focused practice
- Possess industry relationships with local consultants and contractors for both large and small scale projects
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Acrobat, BillQuick/CORE (preferred)
- Expert skill & use of AutoCAD
- General knowledge of Revit/SketchUp
- Learner mindset with a can do/never say no attitude
- Excellent written & oral english communication skills
- Professional, mature presentation with strong ability to properly represent yourself and the Firm
- Proven ability to create a collaborative, positive, and inclusive team culture
- Proven experience or demonstrated commitment to mentoring or coaching junior team members
- Proven experience building trust with coworkers, consultants and clients and developing longstanding relationships
