Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and highly organized Project Manager to oversee landscape construction projects from start to finish. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of landscape construction, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in landscape construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope of work, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Schedule and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Prepare and submit project budgets and forecasts, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.

2. Team Management:

  • Lead and motivate project teams, including internal staff and subcontractors, to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Organize and conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress, address issues, and provide updates to clients.
  • Provide leadership on-site, ensuring safety protocols are followed and high standards of quality control are maintained.

3. Budget & Financial Management:

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that projects stay within financial parameters.
  • Approve purchase orders, invoices, and payment applications, ensuring they align with the contract terms.
  • Provide regular budget updates and cost reports to senior management and clients.

4. Client Communication & Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring their expectations are met and concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and the potential for repeat business.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to clients and stakeholders, highlighting progress, issues, and solutions.

5. Quality Assurance & Safety:

  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the design, specifications, and local regulations.
  • Enforce safety standards and industry best practices to maintain a safe work environment for all project personnel.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor work quality and resolve any issues that may arise during construction.

6. Problem-Solving & Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Address and resolve conflicts, delays, or issues that may impact the project timeline, budget, or quality.
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.

7. Project Closeout:

  • Ensure all project deliverables are completed to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Prepare and submit final project documentation, including as-built drawings, maintenance guidelines, and warranties.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and close out project files.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Landscape Industry Certified, etc.).

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing landscape construction projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing landscape construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience managing teams, including subcontractors and vendors.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction processes, materials, equipment and techniques.
  • Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Key Competencies:

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and on construction sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk, climb, and navigate uneven terrain.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and fieldwork.
  • A seasonal schedule will apply where longer hours will be required in peak season and shorter more flexible hours in the winter months.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
