Our products are used in wireless technology, telecom, test & measurement, automotive, medical, military, industrial and data systems. We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team in Akron, PA.
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician provides technical support to Rosenberger’s Engineering, Quality and Production departments. In this role, the Technician will be engaged in existing and new product development by building sample or prototype cable assemblies and coaxial connectors. The Technician will carry out performance testing, evaluate and document results using precision mechanical, electrical and High Frequency laboratory test equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions of the Job:Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Build RF cable, connector assembly and PCB samples, prototypes, engineering or customer evaluation units, demo applications.
- Assist Engineering in assembling technical documentation (processes and procedures, application notes and instructions); provide mechanical and electrical performance test reports.
- Analyze test failures, provide support to Process Engineering, Quality and Production in root cause analysis.
- Assist the Tooling Department in tool trials, evaluate requests from Production.
- Setup and operate RF test equipment (Network Analyzers, Intermodulation Testers, RF Fault Analyzers); develop and maintain their test programs and procedures.
- Verify, troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on RF test hardware (calibration kits, test ports, adapters and terminations).
- Setup, operate and organize various test equipment in Production, and prototyping units in the Engineering Lab (Force Tester, Environmental Test Chamber, Optical Measurement devices, 3D printer, SMT Prototyping Oven, Dielectric Tester, Cross Sectioning equipment).
- Communicate in oral or written with various internal customers (Sales, Engineering, Process Engineering) to obtain and provide required technical information.
- Assist in Continuous Improvement projects (New Product Introductions, Research & Development), as well as legacy product improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to providing technical support to Production and other departments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in a technical discipline (mechanical or electrical engineering) preferred.
- Formal apprenticeship or five (5) years of equivalent training.
- 5 years of direct, hands-on experience in process improvement for manufacturing.
- Knowledge of basic measuring devices (calipers, micrometer, multimeter) required.
- Knowledge of electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, continuity tester) preferred.
- Experience in hand soldering of electrical components and/or Printed Circuit Boards is required.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
- Ability to work as part of cross-functional team.
- Ability to come up with creative solutions to new design and machining challenges.
- Ability to reason through and identify root cause of manufacturing-related issues.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.50 - $28.50 per hour
