What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Rosenboom Machine & Tool Inc?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weld components for hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes.
- Keep welding spatter to a minimum, using spat guards and/or prohibitors as appropriate.
- Monitor and correct weld defects (cold lap, porosity, undercut, etc.).
- Complete welding processes according to production standards.
- Set up tack fixtures according to production standards.
- Perform daily maintenance and clean up.
- May be required to operate a welding robot as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities/Education and/or Experience:
- Related post-secondary training and/or experience, preferred.
- Demonstrate a working understanding and practical application of shop math: practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry required to interpret prints and produce quality parts.
- Analyze problems common to welding and identifies the root cause.
- Measure components and assemblies to verify conformance to the print (tape measure, scale, caliper).
- Demonstrates working knowledge of gases and power sources used in the welding process.
