Survey Crew Chief
Rosenbrock Land Surveying, Inc. is a locally owned and operated land surveying company in Auburn, MI, the heart of the Tri-Cities area. We are currently seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our team.
Candidates must be self-motivated, and willing and able to work well with and train under a crew chief. Upon successful training, the survey crew chief will be expected to perform land surveys independently, as needed, in a professional and timely manner. The survey crew chief will have the opportunity to gain field experience daily, which can advance into a long-term career for committed individuals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform field work for a variety of land surveys such as boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, land divisions and elevation certificates.
- Complete research of necessary survey records, property deeds and pertinent section related information based on each specific project. Perform various survey calculations.
- Search for section corners and property irons based on calculated locations and data.
- Accurately record field notes. Document survey findings and delineation of lines and boundaries.
- Set-up, operation and collection of field survey data through global positioning equipment and total station devices. Experience with Leica equipment is preferred but not required.
- UAV (Drone) Data collection and data processing preferred but not required.
- Manual labor includes tasks such as digging, carrying supplies and equipment, setting stakes, clearing brush on property lines when needed.
- Assist with writing property descriptions and drawing certificate of surveys through AutoCad.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma with a strong math background.
- An Associates or Bachelors degree in Land Surveying or related classes is desired.
- Previous surveying experience is required.
- Willingness to manage projects with little oversight.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent quality handwriting skills.
- Current driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
