YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY :

The Senior Director of Civil Construction will oversee the civil construction efforts for large-scale projects with scopes exceeding $1 billion. This strategic leader will be responsible for directing all aspects of civil construction, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role demands exceptional leadership, advanced expertise in civil engineering, and a proven history of managing complex projects within the EPC industry.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all civil construction activities, including site preparation, grading, foundations, earthworks, and utility installations.

Champion safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all project sites, ensuring a culture of excellence and accountability.

Develop and implement high-level construction strategies, schedules, and resource allocation plans to achieve project milestones and deliverables.

Lead multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and high performance.

Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and project management teams to align execution with overall project objectives.

Monitor project progress with a focus on financial performance, risk mitigation, productivity, and schedule adherence, address challenges proactively with corrective actions.

Present executive-level project updates, reports, and performance insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and innovation across all civil construction operations.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success and alignment with business objectives.

Oversee budgets and cost controls, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to project scope.

COMPETENCIES :

Demonstrated expertise managing projects with a total scope of $1 billion or more.

Deep knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.

Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successfully leading large, diverse teams.

Advanced proficiency in project controls, cost management, scheduling, and risk mitigation strategies.

Established success in managing stakeholder relationships, including clients, subcontractors, and government agencies

Expertise in construction management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, or similar).

Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :

Proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Proficient using Autodesk Civil 3D.

Proficient using QGIS or ArcGIS Pro

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.

Effective oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US :

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is highly desirable.

15 years of progressive experience in civil construction, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles, preferably in an EPC or large-scale infrastructure environment.

TRAVEL : Up to 30%

WORKING CONDITIONS :

General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Pay Range

233,600.00-$306,500.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
