Our San Luis Obispo, California team primary focuses on developing both software and hardware for prototype sensors used in non-destructive testing. This involves programming near hardware-software interfaces, developing or modifying embedded device drivers on Linux and other embedded kernels, implementing signal processing algorithms, implementing hardware abstraction layers, interfacing with FPGAs, and targeting resource-constrained processors. Description A Scientist is responsible for the the ideation, research, and development of new technologies for future market needs and to demonstrate their functional capability through the development of prototypes. Responsible for
- Development of ideas, concepts, demonstrators;
- Validation of solutions;
- Selection of suitable hardware, software and other equipment;
- Definition of test scenarios and test environments;
- Documentation of results;
- Organization and administration of research projects;
- Screening of scientific findings (literature, papers, conferences, patents,...);
- Scientific consultancy;
- Preparation of research sketches and proposals;
- Initiation and supervision of student work;
- Identification and (establishment) of relevant scientific contacts;
- Publication of scientific results
