About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Purchasing Manager to join our team. This role involves developing and implementing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and supplies. The ideal candidate will oversee the purchasing department, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with various departments to meet company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements effective purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
- Manages the purchasing department, ensuring all activities are aligned with company goals.
- Identifies and selects reliable suppliers and negotiates contracts to secure favorable terms.
- Coordinates with supply chain, production, and warehouse departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Manages inventory levels to optimize working capital and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
- Supports proper utilization of MRP and procurement management systems.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) for purchasing operations.
- Continuously evaluates and improves purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stays updated on market trends and changes in the supply market to make informed purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in purchasing, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in procurement management software.
- Advanced Excel skills for efficient analysis and reporting.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
Pay range and compensation package
$70,000 - $90,000 Salary range
