- Job Summary :
We are seeking an Activities Assistant to join our team and assist in organizing and implementing recreational activities for our residents. The Activities Assistant will work closely with the Activities Coordinator to plan and facilitate engaging programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation.
1. Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of recreational activities and events.
2. Engage residents in group activities such as games, crafts, music, and exercise classes.
3. Provide one-on-one support to residents who may need extra assistance or modified activities.
4. Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation in activities.
5. Assist in setting up and cleaning up activity areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
6. Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall resident experience.
7. Follow established guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities.
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in recreation therapy or a related field is a plus.
2. Previous experience working with older adults or individuals with special needs preferred.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5. Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for others.
6. Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
7. Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift light objects.
