Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team and support our culinary staff in food preparation and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
· Must be 18 years of age
· Able to work 6am to 3pm
· Background verification check
· Have basic understanding of math
· Complete and pass a physical and TB skin test within thirty days of hire
· Wear hairnet or hat while in the kitchen
· Have 12 hours of health and safety training
· Complete ServSafe training
· Be able to lift to forty pounds and walk up steps
Job Responsibilities
· Prepare meals based on approved weekly menus that reflect all CACFP requirements
· Prepare breakfast and afternoon snacks for all classrooms. Lunch is catered, but cook will serve to all students
· Serve meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperature
· Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation of each meal
· Prepare appropriate amounts of food for each classroom, with amounts served meeting state guidelines
· Maintain daily/weekly reports of logs
· Make weekly/monthly food orders through vendors
· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas
o Make sure all thermometers are working properly
o Ensure all food items are checked for expiration dates
o Wash and sanitize all dishes
o Clean the entire kitchen and appliances throughout the day
o Remove trash and recyclables daily
o Organize and put away all groceries, food orders and non-food items
· Know and follow the mission of Rosie’s Tiny Tots Daycare Ministry
· Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to families, children, team members, administration, and Board of Directors
· Build positive relationships and communicate in a respectful manner with families, children, team members, administration, Board of Directors, and the communities in which we serve
· And all other duties as assigned
