ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging marketing materials and campaigns across various platforms (digital, social media, print).
  • In coordination with Senior Management, develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote Colonial Downs Racetrack and its events.
  • Maintains a strong social media presence across all platforms increasing follows and repost information in as many multiples as possible, promoting events and racing at Colonial Downs.
  • Assist with optimizing ticketing strategies, including pricing, promotions, and distribution channels.
  • Analyze market trends, customer demographics, and ticket sales data to inform strategic decisions and drive revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and partners.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of promotional events and community outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing and ticketing campaigns, adjusting as necessary.
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to manage crowds effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and creative thinker with passion for the racing industry.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including digital marketing tools and ticketing platforms.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing and ticketing strategies, preferably in the entertainment or sports industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must obtain valid Virginia Racing Commission License.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Team Member may be required to sit/stand and remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The Team Member may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and customer volume.
