ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance responsibilities may include raking, mowing, stall mucking, string trimming, garbage removal and general maintenance of the saddling paddock, winner’s circle, track, and barn areas.
- Ensures that ice and water hoses are available throughout live racing hours.
- Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.
- Required to remain calm around multiple people and horses in confined area.
- Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
- Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend the required training sessions offered by the Company.
- Obtain and retain required license(s), including a Virginia Racing Commission (VRC) racing license and a valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
- Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic maintenance and or housekeeping experience a plus.
- Experience working with or around horses highly preferred.
- Must be able to follow instructions without question (due to safety).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Interior and exterior work in all types of weather.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and reach.
- Must be comfortable around multiple horses.
