ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
- Operates the water truck to hydrate the track with a very specific amount of water to provide excellent, conditions on which the horses run. Fills truck tank with water; sprays water in designated areas.
- Operates tractors (John Deere 6000 and 7000 series) and track maintenance equipment including but not limited to: track harrows, conditioners and floats. May have to operate other equipment such as large vehicles, forklifts, mowers, and at times, a variety of hand tools and equipment.
- Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Monitors vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness. Works with vehicle maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance as well as timely and efficient repairs so vehicle will always be ready for use when needed
- Performs a variety of physically demanding labor on a routine basis and in compliance with all safety standards.
- Assists with cleaning backside areas in order to maintain suitable appearance and sanitation standards of facility.
- Completes all work assignments on time and with accuracy.
- Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
- Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required licensing, including a Virginia Racing Commission (VRC) racing license.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
- Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to drive tractors for up to 6 hours a day. Must be able to lift approximately 40 pounds. Must be able to get up and down, in and out of equipment. Must have general knowledge of equipment, tractors and other equipment used as well as proper machine start-up, operation, and shutdown. Must be able to work under minimal supervision and have good time management skills. Must be available to work during the entire opening of stable area and racetrack for training as well as full race meet at Colonial Downs.
