Position Title: Lead Sanitation Technician

Reports to: Sanitation Manager

Position Description And Purpose

As the Lead Sanitation Technician, you will ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are met while actively participating in hands-on cleaning and providing guidance to the sanitation team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the execution of cleaning and sanitization tasks.
• Train and mentor sanitation team members on cleaning techniques and best practices.
• Verify proper completion of cleaning tasks through physical inspections and ATP swabbing.
• Assist in the validation of cleaning and sanitization processes.
• Contribute to process improvements that increase cleaning and sanitation efficiency.
• Maintain sanitation tracking boards and manage sanitation work orders.
• Enforce compliance with 5S standards (sort, straighten, systematic cleaning, standardize, sustain).
• Participate in pre-clean meetings and ensure understanding of cleaning objectives.
• Collaborate in pest control efforts and ensure proper documentation.
• Understand and adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Support internal and external audits, helping to address findings related to sanitation.
• Assist in evaluating and updating Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).
  
  

Required And Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in food industry sanitation or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, including allergen and microbiological control, and GMP compliance.
• Experience with SQF standards and sanitation verification techniques.
• Strong communication and team-building skills.
• Attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Pest Control Operator license preferred.
