The Flattening Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the flattening press machine to ensure materials meet specified flatness and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor flattening press equipment in accordance with production schedules and specifications.
- Inspect materials before and after flattening for quality, thickness, and flatness using appropriate measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, straight edges).
- Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity standards.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or technical drawings to ensure accuracy.
- Document production data, maintenance logs, and inspection results.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues or improve processes.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience operating industrial presses or similar equipment preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspection techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
