Ross Design and Engineering is seeking a skilled and reliable Production Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating saw machines to cut materials to specified dimensions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints or work instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain production saws to cut materials according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
- Measure and inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Adjust saw settings, blades, and cutting speeds based on material type and job requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and perform routine maintenance or troubleshooting as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading as required.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience operating production saws or other cutting equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, measurements, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills and proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Requires the use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
- May involve standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motions throughout the shift.
