Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions

- Performs duties/functions utilizing the organization’s ERP system including, but not limited to:
- Assist requisitions who need help generating requisitions and assist in the training of new users if requested
- Create requests for proposals (RFPs) and purchase orders (POs)
- Evaluate multiple proposals to determine best overall value.
- Track and expedite open purchase orders for the department
- Any other system duties as assigned
- Research and identify potential new sources of supply and assist requisitions in the identification and selection of appropriate sources for their procurement needs
- Manage the supply chain to minimize total acquisition costs and continually identify economical alternatives
- Ability to draw on past experiences to find creative solutions to current problems
- Any other supply-chain management duties as assigned
- Establish and maintain positive, fair and mutually beneficial partnerships with vendors
- Work closely with Accounts Payable to help facilitate the timely and accurate processing of invoices
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Bachelors degree is strongly preferred
- Three years of purchasing or supply chain management experience; some level of professional certification is desirable
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suite; ERP (SAP) system experience is strongly preferred
- Experience buying in support of a manufacturing/Industrial facility is strongly desired.
- Proficient at sourcing commercial and industrial products via the internet
- Able to prioritize and manage procurement requirements for multiple companies
- Able to follow and enforce corporate policies and procedures
- Must be willing and able to travel between facilities (vehicle required). This position is an in-person office position at our Elyria , Ohio headquarters. Occasional travel to our Grafton, Ohio facility to meet with vendors and Co-workers. Periodic travel to our Grafton, Ohio facility may be required to cover for the on-site Buyer.
