Summary:
Ross Industries is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Finisher to support our fabrication operations. The Metal Finisher
is responsible for performing finishing processes on stainless steel and aluminum components, ensuring all parts meet the
company’s quality standards prior to final inspection. The position requires proficiency with hand and power tools, attention to
detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. This role performs works in a fabrication shop environment; proper PPE
must be worn at all times. Ross Industries is committed to maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
Job Function/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for finishing materials and products using abrasives, hand and/or machine tools according to blueprints
- Performing grinding, sanding, deburring, and polishing operations on fabricated stainless steel and aluminum parts.
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and job travelers to determine finishing requirements.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality conformance.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
- Identify and report material defects or quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
- Assist with other fabrication tasks and support team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of (1) year of experience in metal finishing or a related manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and drawings.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and applicable work experience utilizing mechanical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and craftmanship.
- Must be committed to excellence and generate a high quality of work.
- Must be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment.
- Must be able to work in various positions, including but not limited to stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling and
- Must be able to reach overhead.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Must be available to work overtime and some weekends as required.
- Must process good written and verbal communication skills in English language.
- Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Must successfully pass background check and drug test.
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational school or equivalent training preferred but not required
The position is full time with full benefits package. Typical work schedule is M-F 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with availability for OT.
