Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Packing and sorting plumbing equipment for each job
- Locating pipe leaks and preparing the work area
- Fetching tools, truck stock, and equipment
- Cutting open walls and structures to expose pipes
- Assisting Plumber with plumbing installations and repairs
- Measuring, cutting, and threading pipes
- Digging and compaction of dirt work and trenches
- Other duties as directed by the plumber
- Spending time learning from peers and from other more senior employees
- Hard-working, willing to learn and to be trained
- Vocational training or professional construction experience or in maintenance is helpful
- The preferred candidate also has advanced mechanical skills, physical dexterity, basic mathematical skills, and strong attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of tools common to plumbing and construction
- Active listening skills, able to understand plumber's instructions and act upon them intelligently and efficiently
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work on uneven surfaces
- Ability to stand, bend, or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
