What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Admissions position at Ross School?
The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Enrollment Management in all areas related to admission, marketing, and student recruitment. Domestic and some international and domestic travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the enrollment process from inquiry to enrollment.
- Interviews and directs prospects as they proceed form inquiry to enrolled.
- Actively communicates with prospects and referral sources.
- Represents the School both on campus and off in his or her role as an Admission Officer.
- Responsible for all prospects (inquiries to be enrolled) from assigned markets.
- Actively participates in the Trusted Partner program by visiting and actively communicating with recruitment partners.
- Conducts tours and open houses for the Upper & Lower School.
- Travels to recruit students internationally and domestically (as needed).
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. An individual must be able to accept and assume assigned duties and make responsible decision when required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:
- Bachelors degree in marketing, informational technology or systems, education or other appropriate field.
- 1-3 years experience in an independent boarding school, higher education admission setting, or related sales and marketing experience preferred.
- Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to use relevant tools for communication and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines.
- Outstanding technical skills. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, databases, and other computer skills are required.
- Weekend and evening work required; frequent travel required.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Russian, German, or Portuguese preferred.
- Ability to relocate from one physical space to another throughout the course of the day as well as attend off site meetings.
- Ability to read, analyze, develop, and interpret documents in English.
