Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Director of Teaching and Learning. This position will report directly to the Head of School and leads academic leadership groups, including Division Heads. This position is responsible for overseeing budgets related to faculty professional development, faculty hiring, curriculum development, and educational technology. The Director will collaborate with the Directors of other departments, such as Admissions, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, Operations, Residential Life (Boarding), and Finance.
Additionally, the Director will provide leadership and guidance to Ross School, focusing on measurable academic improvement. This includes offering professional development opportunities and leadership support for teachers, teacher leaders, and the teacher leadership program. This is a senior-level, 12-month administrative position responsible for overseeing teaching and learning at the school.
Responsibilities
- Faculty Professional Development (in coordination with the Division Heads, HR Director, and HOS)
- Faculty Evaluations
- Faculty Hiring (in coordination with the Division Heads, HR Director, and HOS)
- Curriculum development and oversight (in coordination with the Division Heads)
- Faculty workload and work assignments (in coordination with the Division Heads, HR Director, & HOS)
- Academic Departments oversight, working with “deans” or other academic leaders by assessing talent, curriculum development, pedagogy, professional development, and departmental goals.
- Educational technology oversight and integration.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform their essential duty, accept and assume assigned responsibilities, and make responsible decisions when required.
- 5 years of experience leading school-wide academic program(s).
- 5 years of experience with hiring and professional development.
- 5 years of experience in Curriculum development.
- 5 years of experience as a Division Head or other academic leadership position.
- 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required
- Ability to effectively engage with learners of all levels and backgrounds.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness of the importance of international education and intercultural understanding.
- Ability to create learning environments that promote active engagement for all students.
- Ability to support academic needs and coursework for students, families, and other professionals associated with Ross distance learning programs.
- Ability to read, analyze, develop, and interpret documents such as curriculum, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in the language of instruction.
- Ability to work collaboratively to advance the goals and strategic plan of the organization consistent with the Ross Mission, Philosophy, and Core Values.
- Ability to accept and work in a dynamic setting with multiple priorities.

Salary commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000
