What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Lines Director of Marketing position at Ross & Yerger Insurance, Inc.?
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services
- Pre-qualifies new business according to agency standards
- Provides technical marketing support to prequalify new business according to marketing standards
- Coordinates with production teams and practice groups to ensure that qualifying renewal business is property review and marketed
- Assists in design and implementation of insurance programs for prospect
- Prepares proposal in coordination with producer, submits applications to marketing, negotiate with underwriters, coverage reviews and analyze carrier quotes
- Produce monthly marketing activity report and complete monthly producer scorecard
- Directly supervise associates on marketing team
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with insurance markets and executes marketing plans and program, both short and long range, in ensure the program, growth and expansion of company plans and products
- Entertain carrier personnel to foster improved relationships
- Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology
- Complete new appointment paperwork and review contractual term and contracts.
Requirements:
- 4-year college degree.
- CPCU, CIC or equivalent designation(s) preferred.
- 5 years Property & Casualty insurance work experience.
- Prior sales and/or marketing experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty coverages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer focus and the ability to work as part of a team with Producer(s) and Client Managers.
- Good analytical skills for evaluating exposures, controls, loss experience and coverage gaps.
- Strong ability to research market niches, communicate with carrier marketing departments and underwriters, and develop action plans for new business and renewal efforts.
- Good computer skills (EPIC, Word, and Excel software experience preferred).
- The ability to clearly and effectively communicate via phone, email, in person and in writing.
- The ability to travel up to 10%.
