About the Role - Assists Shift Supervisor in individual work areas, meeting production requirements based on customer specifications, with important emphasis on safety, quality, cost control, delivery, and employee development. Perform welding and fabrication of materials and perform general equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Welding metals as specified by drawings and work orders.
- Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
- Train new welders and mentoring team.
- Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required.
- Liaising with the line supervisor, reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement.
- Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by having the ability to work in a constant state of alertness, following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times and ensures safety precautions are observed by all fabrication facility employees.
- Use judgement in selecting the repair methods, equipment and materials used to accomplish assignments.
- Ensure safeguards for equipment and PPE while performing welding operations.
- Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
