POSITION:
Rossford Elementary School Teacher
Primary Grade Level / Subject Area: Reading Specialist
2025-2026 School Year
SALARY: Per Negotiated Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid and appropriate State of Ohio Teaching License
- Masters Degree in Reading and/or Reading Endorsement preferred
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Genuine desire to support efforts to achieve the district vision: Preparing, inspiring, and empowering all students to achieve success
- Expertise in high-quality reading instruction, RIMPS, and Science of Reading
DUTIES:
- Works with teachers and principals to plan, administer, and evaluate language arts programs, providing targeted interventions for students as needed.
- Develops and refines the district-wide literacy philosophy and curriculum with the Curriculum Director, administration, staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Science of Reading principles.
- Partners with principals, teachers, and reading specialists to analyze assessment data, guiding instruction and decision-making at both the district and building levels.
- Works with teachers, principals, parents, and specialists to monitor and communicate students' literacy progress, analyze assessment data, identify areas for improvement, and develop specialized instructional programs to support student growth.
- Partners with the principal, curriculum director, and special education director to identify professional development needs, support the orientation of new staff, and address curriculum needs.
- Actively participates in the Ohio Improvement Process through Teacher Based Teams (TBTs), as well as the Building and District Leadership Teams.
- Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens.
- Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in applicable job description(s), including other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent of Schools.
