Position Overview:
Rossford Junior-Senior High School is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered High School Athletic Director to lead and inspire our athletic programs. This full-time administrative position offers a unique opportunity to work with talented student-athletes and support their growth both on and off the field. The Athletic Director (AD) will manage a comprehensive athletic program that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic success. The AD will provide leadership for the coaching staff and ensure a positive, safe environment for all participants.

The Athletic Director will play a vital role in fostering a culture of excellence, community involvement, and pride while ensuring compliance with Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) regulations and district policies.
Qualifications & Required Abilities:
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Sports Management, or related field required. Valid Pupil Activity Permit required.
- Experience & Skills: Strong management, leadership, and human relations skills. Ability to collaborate with leadership teams and a deep understanding of OHSAA rules and by-laws.
- Leadership & Communication: Effective leader with strong communication skills (verbal, written, and active listening) to engage diverse stakeholders and convey information clearly.
- Conflict Resolution & Time Management: Ability to resolve conflicts and manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to become certified to operate school vans.
Essential Functions:
- Program & Compliance: Administer athletic programs in line with district policies, OHSAA regulations, and other guidelines. Represent the district at meetings and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Budget & Financial Oversight: Manage athletic budget, allocate resources, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Scheduling & Event Management: Coordinate game schedules, ensure effective communication of changes, and provide administrative coverage at events.
- Staff Management: Secure game officials, security, and personnel. Oversee coaching staff recruitment, training, and performance.
- Facilities & Equipment: Oversee preparation and maintenance of athletic facilities and inventory of uniforms and equipment.
- Student & Athlete Support: Ensure student conduct standards and eligibility requirements are met and support student-athlete recognition.
- Booster Relations & Program Development: Collaborate with athletic boosters, provide vision and direction to grow and improve the athletic program, build community partnerships.
- Other Duties: Maintain confidentiality, respect privacy, and perform other duties as assigned by principal and/or superintendent.
