Certified Medical Coder - Full-Time Position
Job Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Certified Medical Coder to join our team in the Northtowns area, with a hybrid work arrangement. This role reports to the Billing Manager and is crucial for ensuring accurate medical billing and coding.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes
- Maintain 90-95% coding accuracy and meet productivity standards
- Appeal claim denials and handle refund requests
- Review and code for various specialties including inpatient, outpatient, physician, pathology, and infusion
- Assign Risk Adjustment diagnoses using comprehensive medical knowledge
- Review Medicare reimbursement claims for accuracy
- Educate staff on proper coding practices and documentation requirements
Qualifications
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CMC (Certified Medical Coder) required.
- 2-3 years experience with specialty coding (e.g., Urology, ENT, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Breast health, & Oncology) required.
- Experience with EMR and billing systems, such as Medent & ONCO preferred.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding
- Familiarity with medical office procedures
